Tuesday, November 12th, 2002

Congratulations to Mark Nakamoto of West New York, NJ, who cranked out the Ultimate Solve in two minutes. Kudos also to the 500 who solved the puzzle and called in within twenty minutes of the Final Clue's airing. Read the full press release at ABC Media Net (page 6).

Mark Nakamoto, 24, of West New York, New Jersey, is the lucky viewer who claimed the $1,045,000 prize from the Push, Nevada Game, it was announced today by the ABC Television Network.

Nakomoto solved the “Push, Nevada” puzzle after watching the “Push, Nevada” series and the Final Clue, broadcast live during ABC’s “Monday Night Football” on October 28, which completed the information viewers needed to solve the puzzle. The Final Clue led viewers to a series of letters taken from the episode clues that, together with a cipher, corresponded to a telephone number. Less than two minutes after the final piece of the puzzle was broadcast, Nakamoto, an assistant editor for a Manhattan publishing company, was the first contestant to call the winning number. more

  • Chasing The Wish is an immersive internet game where the players become an interactive part of an unfolding mystery and adventure.
  • Chasing The Wish will involve challenging puzzles and tasks that will require research and activity not only on the web but in the real world as well. Real world objects will be key elements of the game.
  • Chasing The Wish will be free.
  • Chasing The Wish is not a ChangeAgents' story. It is not about mind control or secret government agencies (at least not in any way you might dream of). [Note: The ChangeAgents' were key figures in earlier games by one of the developers of Chasing The Wish]
  • Chasing The Wish is not a solo effort. Some team resources are already in place, others are being recruited for specific needs.
  • Chasing The Wish is in development now and already has over two dozen websites conceived and integrated into a multi-layered storyline.
  • Chasing The Wish is tentatively scheduled to begin near the end of the year.
  • Chasing The Wish will make generous use of video, audio, e-mail, phone calls, chats and IMs, as well as live real-world events.

Terminator3 Update

I just received an email from Terminator3.com:

Terminator3.com is now active for select users.

As a registered user you can log on and have a sneak peak while we test, debug, and add features. We will be online for everyone else midnight October 14th, EST.

Either they meant November or I should've gotten this email a long time ago. Anyway, if you previously registered on the site, you can now login. It looks like a movie promo site only, with static downloads and stuff, and a community area that's "coming soon."

8March2003 Feels the Heat

Yeah, he's still tight-lipped about what the reveal will be on March 8, 2003, but the sitemaster has caved to the pressure of the swarming internet masses and admitted that the site isn't real.

From 8march2003.com:
This site was originally posted as a piece of writing with purposeful clues and discrepancies to indicate it's fictitious nature leading up to a pre publicity campaign to see how much interest it might generate. Quite honestly the overwhelming response and attention was not expected, or at least not so quickly. That was why the site was posted several months ahead with the intention of it slowly gathering momentum, leading up to the actual revealing date. more

We're still planning on keeping an eye on it, because who knows? It could still be a promotion for a really cool digital camera that works even while it's on fire or something.

Chasing the Wish

Man, I am totally stoked about this one. As you may or may not know, the Push fan site Speed Hunting Club is mastered by none other than Change Agents PM, Dave Szulborski. WB posted an insightful interview of Dave over at deaddrop.us today, in which they spoke not only of the Agents of Change and of Hunting Speedily, but also what Mr. Szulborski's plans were for the future. One interesting thing Dave mentioned with respect to the Speed Hunting Club was that the puzzle presently featured on that site would eventually lead to a teaser for his next project, currently in the works.

Damned if the esteemed Mottjr didn't solve that very puzzle shortly thereafter, leading us to chasingthewish.com. The site is currently set up as a teaser, promising more information on the 12th of November and providing an email contact for "pre-registration." What is there may be vague, but it's worked its magic on me: I love the premise and I can't wait to see this one launch! I'll be waiting on pins and needles until it does.
