Send your tips to Despoiler

FrankenPaula wondered a while back if anyone had been following this mystery, which appears to be tied in to BMW Films somehow. One possible starting point, as pointed out by Trallyus, is at the Apple site where you can go to www.apple.com/mpeg4, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the linked :k: to begin your quest. A BMW Films fan has a site called the Deciphernaut HQ where you can find some hints, and the MacRumors forum has also been discussing the mystery.

Tron 2.0

Sunday, October 20th, 2002

Trallyus submitted a nice introductory walkthrough to the Tron 2.0 site, which we've added to the compendium page.

You asked about the Tron 2.0 website at http://www.tron20.net – I just tried it out tonight 🙂

The direct connect file that the site wants to send you is a screensaver. You definitely want to get it as if you don't, you won't go far in the game. 🙂 It also pulls info off the server as well, and has screenshots of the Tron video game.

If you haven't done so already, click the blue smiley at the lower right corner of the screen that flashes on and off once in a while and it will hack you into the site. 🙂 You don't even need to register to do this. After that it shows some animation, and allows you to listen to phone calls as well as tap in to PDAs. more

DanHon clued us in via the Cloudmakers list that the latest iteration of the Nokia Game, is about to launch for 2002. The game is an interactive adventure scheduled to run from November 11 through November 29, 2002, across 25 countries in Europe and the Middle East. This year's game bears a music theme, and will use the Internet, SMS, chat, interactive voice response (IVR) calls and mini-movies distributed over the web to share information and provide clues and instructions to the players.

Free to play, participants need only have access to the Internet, an e-mail address, and a mobile phone with the capacity to receive short messages in order to participate in the game. The top players from each country will be awarded with a brand-new Nokia 3650 phone with integrated camera, video player and camrecorder.

Jaded Media Hallowe’en Contest Update

Friday, October 11th, 2002

A reliable source tells us that the upcoming competition will be structured in four stages. According to the rules, the contest will officially begin at 12:00 noon (Central) on Sunday, October 27th, and our mole adds that the first and second stages will last two hours each, and the final two rounds will each last an hour. So for those of you planning to play, set aside that block of time because it doesn't look like you'll be able to just jump in at the end. As Calvin would say, "FURTHER BULLETINS AS EVENTS WARRANT!"
